This slice-of-life goes to extremes to tell an interesting story and gives more depth to its small cast than most. The English voice acting is good, the art style is consistent, and the background music calls to an earlier period. It's aged pretty well and is likely more relatable now, which is sad. It deals with some very heavy topics with the right blend of seriousness and comedy. You'll get more than you expected if you stay the course. My one criticism would be its uneven pacing, but there's a chance that was by design and adds to the experience....
